Went with a mate for a run down to Dungeness today in search of migrant birds and to see a place i had never had the chance to visit before.
Had a fantastic day and was truly impressed by the site and the area and a place i will visit again in future if i get the chance

Species seen and heard included;
Wheater (at least 5 birds around the power station and sea front area but they were very active) distant Wheater were also seen around the RSPB site and they were very active.
Yellow Wagtail (two seperate flocks, one of 7 Birds one of 9 on the RSPB part of the site)
Cetti's Warbler (4 calling birds around the various pools on the RSPB site)
Rock Pipit (1 down by the Power station)
Swallow (1 flew low over us on the sea defence gravel bank)
Whinchat (1 flying over area between the Power Station and the RSPB site)
Common Whitethroat (2 heard)
Sedge Warbler numerous birds calling around the RSPB pools and reedbeds.
Black Redstart 1 near the Power Station.
Greenshank 1 heard calling over the RSPB reserve.
Other highlights of the trip included distant views of
Marsh Harrier, both
Red legged and
Grey Partridge, a
Grass Snake in the area between the Power Station and the RSPB site and very good views of a
Mediterranean Gull.
The day ended with
Red Kite and herd of
Fallow Deer on the way back home via the motorway.
In all a great day and a stunning place i would reccomend it to anyone visiting the area.
