| | | Seen at 2 infant robins in the nest! and my first chiff chaff Excited this morning watching Mum and Dad robin feeding - saw another gaping mouth - later hatching? Things got a bit tense for me - a female blackbird flew up to the nest box and looked like she wanted to get in - hope it was mistaken identity of nest box and not hunger for tasty chick! Must confess I intervened by banging on the window - nosey vistor flew away! Do blackbirds predate nests? The parent robins have me on the edge when they both leave and go off foraging - nest seems very vulnerable then - a pesky squirrel, cats etc!
Had a female blackcap in the garden too. Saw MY first chiff chaff yesterday at west side of Pagham harbour -also a beautiful make black cap - its cap was intense black. Male reed bunting too, got the pair now, had a female reed bunting in the garden a few days ago. Lots of curlews and redshanks at Pagham. |

| | | Re: Seen at 2 infant robins in the nest! and my first chiff chaff I have never known a blackbird to predate any nests. She may have been looking for a possible nesting site for herself or thought that another blackbird had nested within her terrority.

| | | Re: Seen at 2 infant robins in the nest! and my first chiff chaff Och, I'm jealous! My wee Robin disappeared two weeks ago, after being in my garden (posing for photos) since October. He was back one day last week, then disappeared again. I think he came back just to let me know he was ok. |

| | | Re: Seen at 2 infant robins in the nest! and my first chiff chaff Hi Anty Patty, To load pics, I clicked on my name, which took me to my profile page, then clicked on "library images" at the bottom of the page. It tells you how to upload them then you just click the picture you want to show in your post.
There's probly an easier way than this, but that's how I did it.
This was the first pic I took of Wee Rab, I added the worm to make Xmas cards. I really miss that wee bird! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
