Goldfinch

Had my first Goldfinch in my Garden today2 off them eating my sunflower seed.

i had my first in the garden on my forsythia yesterday, and again today, completely by chance as i dont think he was interested in any of my feeders,
but it was worth the wait.

Yes i got 2 goldfinches in my NEIGHBORS garden looking 4 food in the soil while there was a nijer feeder in my garden!!! Birds...

There are large numbers of Goldfinches around my office in Reading, often gathering in large numbers of 30 - 40 at a time.
Best of all, some are now nesting in the hedge right outside my office window

I'll have to try getting some shots of them on the hedge through the window, as they are usually a pain to get close to.

It seems in my garden anyway, that the nyger seed is certainly not the goldfinch magnet, I have a small charm of averagly 7, they prefer the sunflower hearts, if they do hop onto the nyger they soon hop off and back to the sunflower hearts.
