| | | Golden Pheasant! Myself and the lady were having a wander today, stalking a few Roe Deer and snapping away when all of a sudden, I saw a flash of yellow in the woods about 50m away. Initially I thought it was just another Pheasant, but turns out it was a beautiful Golden Pheasant. Never seen one before in all of my time out and about here, and what a pleasant Pheasant
I've got pictures, but it's a tad late for faffing, so will chuck them on here later. Btw, they're awful snapshot piccies, but they'll do!

I have seen them quite a few times, usually in Uayland Woods in Norfolk, although not the last few years.
Lately I see them at the Wolferton Triangle, near Sandringham and below is the only ever chance of a shot I ever had of one. As soon as I clicked the camera it was off and away into the undergrowth. Not a great photo but it gives an indication of its beauty.

| | | Re: Golden Pheasant! Hi
Seen mine at sculthorpe moor near Fakenham, Norfolk. Apparently there's about four but i've only ever seen one male. This year I saw him in January when he was feeding near one of the feeders that are put out. Also there was less undergrowth so he was easier to see.
Managed this picture but he was a bit skitish and soon disappeared in thicker undergrowth.

| | | Re: Golden Pheasant! Sorry- totally forgot to add my snap! Really bad image, I know, but I was hardly equipped for the encounter!
Here he is!
Sorry it's a wee bit late! I totally forgot until I saw it in my picture library!
