| | | Goldfinches Delighted that after 6 months of having a niger seed feeder and no interest, my central city garden attracted 2 gorgeous Goldfinches to the feeder this morning. They happily sat on the feeder for no less than 10 minutes and later returned to hop around on the lawn.
Would I be running before I could walk if I thought about getting a bigger niger feeder? My current one only has 2 ports. |

I can understand you excitement. The same happened to me, a couple of years back.
Now we can have anything up to thirty five at a time visit.
So I would say, give it a day or two, and if they still keep returning. Yes get a larger feeder. After all. What have you got to lose. |

My current one only has 2 ports. | We've got several nijer seed feeders, but find several small ones are better than one large. This one is the cheapest and I now prefer over the long 'traditional' ones. They're also much easier to clean. Small Plastic Lantern-Type Niger Feeder - Haiths Bird Seed

Would there be more of them? |

| | | Re: Goldfinches I put in a Gardman Thistle seed feeder last week and I've now got 3 or 4 goldfinches as regular visitors, I'd never seen them in the area before. It's quite nice as they always stay for a good few mins at a time.
I was also wondering if I had another feeder if I'd get more of them? |

| | | Re: Goldfinches Think i may have the same feeder as you mike. Mine only has 2 ports though, which was why I was wondering if i had more ports i'd get more finches!?
You did well, 1 week before getting finches, I'd been waiting 6 months! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
