| | | This maybe nothing to some but... ...we've had THREE Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers in the garden this morning... I was even late for work as I stood there and watched!
Two were males and had something of a set to over the femle on the suet feeder lol
The suet feed really does seem to be a highlight for the birds; we've started reusing it and noticed the Long Tailed Tits have come back too. Not a commercial plug mind, my missus makes it herself.
We've also got a Robin pair, at least I assume they're a pair as they're not killing each other... and to boot, I've found more newts in my pond

| | | Re: This maybe nothing to some but... I think that would be something to most being that Lesser spotted are really quite rare! I saw my first ever this year and have been birding for years and years!

I've been birding on and off for the past 20 years or so, and I've never actually seen one Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, let alone 3! |

Three Great spotted isn't bad at all, they are lovely to watch. I've never seen a Lesser spotted either. They are very rare and very shy. We don't have them in Scotland
