| | Birds Eggs I wonder if anyone can help. We are in the process of converting our house. We wanted to demolish a small shed on the side of the garage, however, we found a nest today with swix little pale blue eggs in. What type of bird do they belong to??

| | | Re: Birds Eggs Hi Tazzie,
I would say Robin, due to their location. How lovely to have a nest to watch!
Perhaps mum/dad would appreciate a few meal worms to feed on while they are busy rearing their young!

| | | Birds Eggs Thank you for the I.D. Will keep updating about their progress. It will be nice to see if all six eggs hatch and manage to mature.

| | | Re: Birds Eggs At this time of the year they are most likely to be dunnock (hedge sparrow) eggs. Six seems a lot at this time of the year but my money would be on dunnock eggs!

| | | Birds Eggs Hi folks,
Yet another update to the saga of identifying the eggs. We saw a Thrush today sitting quietly on the nest. Not sure which breed of Thrush it is but that isn't what counts. When she left we had another look and yes there are 6 lovely eggs in the nest.
Thank you all for taking the time in helping on this.
There will be more updates as the days go on.

| | | Re: Birds Eggs If the inside of the nest is hard and very smooth it's a Song thrush, but if the nest is lined with blades of grass and leaves then it's a Blackbird. Sorry, I get carried away because I always want to know what it is that's nesting
It will be lovely to hear how they are doing

| | | Re: Birds Eggs Is the nest in the shed? What is the distance of the nest from the ground? What size is the nest? Is it the size of a side plate or is it the size of a saucer? Further to what Tracey A. described..... a Mistle Thrush also has a grass lined nest and similar eggs but a little larger. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
