Male Chaffinch unable to fly

We have a Male Chaffinch with a damaged wing and he is unable to fly. At the moment he is in an inaccessible place. Is it wise to leave him alone (food put down for him and water) or should we try catching him and finding a vet? or would he have heart attack if we tried? Don't want to cause him any more problems than he already has.

So sad as they suffer so much from stress Christina.Plenty of sunflower hearts and water but sadly, apart from that best left alone.If anyone one says different, go for it .

Pippa, thank you for your swift response. Thought leaving well alone was best...we have supplied him with sunflower hearts (minus the shells) and he has access to a low bowl of water so just keep my fingers crossed he survives. Having said that, we are in the middle or a hailstorm eeeek.

Fingers crossed that he finds cover .He may be tougher than you think.
