Early Babies?

The blackbirds and robins have, for the last 2 days, been enjoying their mealworms more than usual.As they come they've been eating some then taking a beak full.
Just wondered if this would be for partners incubating eggs or for chicks already

Just seems a bit early as normally they don't really start on the worms untill mid-April.

You're right in that males feed the females on the nest, but they might have young too. Blackbirds fledglings have been reported already (breeding as early as February isn't too abnormal), and my garden Robins are laying this week.

Hi shenk, Its not to early to have first brood chicks for blackbirds and robins.They often try and squeeze in three broods a year so they have to start early
