hi . sad news . rspb sandwell valley visitor centre and its roof has been severely damaged in a fire in the early hours of saturday.! we were only there on tuesday where we had first sand martin and oystercatcher..
dont know how it started but its such a shock to local birders and staff/volunteers and guess the centre wont be open again for a while . the reserve itself can still be accessed but not the centre .sue

Sad news Sue, I went there for the first time a couple of months or so ago, it was actually shut then because there was no water because everything was frozen. I hope they catch the b...... that done it if it`s arson
It`s a lovely area.
