Chiffchaff or willow warbler. I usually list this type of uncertain sighting under the heading 'Great Crested Jellywiper'. All little brown birds at a distance come under this heading!

Hi.

i'd go for willow warbler.
The primaries look fairly long compared to a chiffchaff and the leg and bill colour look paler than a Chiffchaffs too.

I agree. The bright and complete eyering, dusky cheeks and what appears to be a short wing strongly suggest Chiffchaff. Another 'clue' might be in the posture - Chiffchaff have a real habit of flicking their tails - the downward pointing tail is very Chiffy.

Short looking primary projection points to chiffchaff methinks. Bet you had a reet good do on the Lofoten Islands. I was there in the summer of 2007 and loved every minute of it.
