Territorial Mute Swan

I took my camera for it's first outing of the year and found a very territorial Mute Swan, he just wouldn't stop seeing off the others, well, I guess it is that time of year

He looks very intimidating doesn't he? I would rather take on a bullock than a swan. In another thread someone mentioned 'Dad' stories which reminded me of a story a friend of a friends dad told her as a child to keep her away from swans in the local park. He said that swans would wrap their long necks around her & strangle her!

i've been forced to move areas before while fishing due to angry swans, i don't much like fishing when they're advancing on me and getting onto the bank!

They often behave this aggressively to the local Canada Geese too, sometimes drowning goslings.
