We saw our first at Sevenoaks NR on 27th March. There were 4 swooping over the lake.
Yesterday at Minsmere, there were lots of sand martins excavating their nesting holes in the sand bank there. It made it feel like spring had really arrived. |

went to see if the sand martins had arrived back at the local colony and counted at least 30 , then saw my 1st pair of swallows, lovely to see our summer birds back round here . rossy,  |

Saw my first swallows today in the Mendips round by Priddy. 3 seperate pairs which was great to see! Thought I'd heard some at the lake at work the other day but hadn't actually seen any |

I think House Martins arrive mid-April, so they are likely to be Sand Martins you saw.
The first Swallows can be seen at the end of March |
