I do think its just close to the lens so we should concentrate on the ID and not the fact its 'massive'

Has a kind of ringed plover feel to it?

Actually on second look its either great tit or blue tit with maybe some colour mutation on the head?

Lol at pratical joke/burglar in disguise! Its definatly not a practical joke as the camera would have caught someone setting it up in the first place.

Sorry, dragze - I didn't mean someone physical set up a practical joke but was just throwing back at you what I thought you were trying to do with us! Ie. suggesting it was actually a ''massive bird'' using a deceptive capture. I was being deliberately obtuse. No offence meant. I'm afraid the internet is rife with people uploading deceptive camera shots. (I've got one from Egypt where my nieces are holding a full size pyramid in their hands even though they were standing nearly a kilometre away!)

How about the captures either side of this one? As you say, the camera would have picked up it being placed (unless they've been omitted should this be a joke! ), so I assume it will also have picked up other photos of it - both as the bird approached this capture point, and flew away afterwards.

Good suggestions - in-flight is the reason for the 'large' perspective.

And the size of the window is in no way relevant...its just flying close to the camera...simple perspective/optical illusion.

I am assuming the OP/ Dragze thinks the bird is actually sitting on the edge of the roof which is why he thinks it is massive?

That would depend on whether the security camera is a constant stream or takes periodic shots - I agree though if the former, then the OP would have seen the whole sequence and chosen to ''ignore'' it (In which case, my initial instincts would have been correct and it's us that's been the target here!)

I promise all of you this is not some sort of joke or wind-up! I wouldnt waste my time or yours!

I keep looking over this picture and zooming in and out of it on the pc and I am convinced it is perched on the edge of the roof, not in flight!

But regardless of if it is big or not in terms of ID i would describe it has having a greenish belly with a yellow band followed by a black band and a white head.
