Saw first lapwing and heard first curlew today (my very favourite sound of spring!) Hopefully won't be long before we have swallows? |

i saw lapwings displaying on sunday, love their calls, doesn't sound real! i've never seen a curlew, but i've heard them and its certainly a great sound.
it must be in the next couple of weeks that the swallows return. canny wait!

Also, sand martins have started appearing for some lucky people (not me yet!)...
Lapwings do make strange noises, almost robotic lol. |

Sand Martins also seen at Pennington Flash and Sale Water Park, Gtr Manchester. Also a Wheatear at Carrington Moss. |

Lots of sand martins reported around the norfolk coast today as well as a couple of wheatears,

Crows have been collecting dog hair and small twigs for nests.Daffodils are getting yellow buds and getting taller.Milder at night which is good for man and beast also the plant-wildlife in general...  |

Skylarks have been ascending all morning today, daffies are out in the graveyard, saw some celandine on the weekend, lots of free loving going on in the pond, definitely a Zip Pidi Doo Dah time of year. | | |
