| | | Re: Another ID! I think they are Goldeneys. The dark headed one is a mature male and the other one looks like a first winter male.

| | | Re: Another ID! The picture is very blurred making it difficult to identify the subject. However, I think they maybe Tufted Duck which are sometimes mistaken for Goldeneye because they have similar colour eyes. Also, the Goldeneye has white cheek patches and a black beak. The beak is much smaller than a Tufted Duck's. Tufties have no white cheek patches and I cannot make out any in the photograph. Tufty beaks are bluish in colour and in the photograph the beaks seem rather large and pale in colour which leads me to think they are Tufties.

| | | Re: Another ID! I think those large white bits on the face are the white patches, looking somewaht strange because of some motion blur. Head shape looks like Goldeneye to me too. |

| | | Re: Another ID! I withdraw my suspicion that it is a Tufted Duck and agree with everyone else it is a Goldeneye. I blew the photograph up and though still very blurred you can just make some black barring at the top of the sides and the chest is white. The chest on a Tufty is black.
