| | | Bullfinches Hi,
only joined today!
I wanted to say that i'm honoured to have in my garden 3 male bullfinches and one female. I live in the Brendon Hills in Somerset, quite rural. People seem to think it's not often you find them in gardens so i'm over joyed at this. They are so funny to watch and i have fallen in love with the bullfinches. |

I get them too, up to 10 in the Winter, they love the sunflower hearts I put out. |

They are beautiful birds arn't they - how lucky for you to have them visit your garden.
I often hear them when out walking and consider myself lucky to even catch a glipse.
Welcome to WAB |

| | | Re: Bullfinches My impression is that they are becoming more frequent visitors/breeders in gardens because of the food (seed) put out for the birds. Garden shrubs if not kept immaculately trimmed can give a habitat not so very different from scrub in structure.
Bullfinches were building up numbers in my garden in Sheffield in the last 3-4 years, and latterly were not shy of humans. They went for the sunflower hearts. They do come into my new rural garden but do not seem to have discovered the feeders, which, given the hordes of other birds on them, is a bit surprising. |

Glad to hear you have such lovely birds as bullfinches(one of my fav visitors to the garden -birds with attitude!!).
As you have 3 males I bet you end up with 3 females too as they always seem to be in pairs.Keep watching and let us know

| | | Re: Bullfinches Hi, thanks for your message, and yes i hoping to see more females soon. One of the males is very bold, he will just sit on one of the small bird bath and just eat no other bird can join. I've tried uploading pictures of the bullfinches but having problems each of the photos i wanted to upload are too big megapixels wise! There lovely pictures as well.
Glad you are seeing them too, it's nice to know there are more coming into gardens since there are beautiful birds. |

| | | Re: Bullfinches Scorpio, resize your pics down to about 1000 pixels for longest side and make sure they are jpeg (unless you have a fancy camera they should be ),then try uploading to the library. There is a limit on the file size you can upload thats why you will be stuggling.
Hope to see some pics soon
