| | | My first kite! OK this is a bit sad I know cos most of you have seen them a lot and I'm a bit late getting my share but I know I'm amongst friends so thought I'd say it anyway.
Travelling home along the A34 yesterday from Oxford, I noticed the large number of buzzards about making the most of the beautiful weather and corresponding thermals. Then realised something wasn't right (isn't it amazing how you get to know the body language of birds). Then suddenly remembered where I was (not driving I hasten to add), looked closer and promptly deafended my husband with a a squeal of "KITE!" Of course once I saw one red kite, I kept seeing them until I got an "Aren't you bored yet?" from the driver's seat. Nope! Very exciting and how lovely they are too. |

| | | Re: My first kite! Nice one! I've only seen a kite once, on a train through oxfordshire last summer, absolutely awesome looking bird, can't wait for them to start nesting in Essex! Jim-envious again!
Hope all is good

| | | Re: My first kite! They really are lovely birds - I get 2-3 circling above my house every day and I never tire of watching them My girlfriend loves them too and always has to peer up when one passes by - then again, she saw a heron the other day and was in awe of it ... they don't get many of those in Moscow |

| | | Re: My first kite! Aw thanks folks :-) And yes lifelong member of the Red Kite fan club now. I see buzzards daily and never get bored of seeing those so I shall continue my quest to see the kites here on the Isle of Wight too. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
