Bird i.d. (small, brown, in a field)
Other than an LBJ I'm really not sure about these. Seen in a field in Sussex this afternoon, flying and landing in a small flock.

Linnets, I think, judging by the white streaks on the wings and white side streaks on the tail.

Yes Linnet. These often group up into large flocks in the winter and forage on arable farmland amoungst stubble inparticular.
