| | | Confirm Red-necked Grebe Please I went for a walk with the camera round a local lake this morning to find a couple of guys following this little bird intently. I managed to get a few shots myself but didn't ask what it was as they were so intent on what they were doing.
I checked when I got home in the couple of books I have and on the RSPB site and am pretty sure it is a Red-necked Grebe but wanted to be certain before I post it to my Gallery.
Thanks, JohnB |

Very nice shots BTW! |

| | | Re: Confirm Red-necked Grebe Please Yes, a Red-necked Grebe and some very nice photos too.
This can be a difficult bird to find in the UK in winter and sometimes difficult to distinguish from some of the other grebes particularly at distance.
I had no such problem finding them in Finland last summer when I saw several breeding pairs in their superb breeding plumage.
