| | | Blackbird behaving like Ring Ouzel Yes it's a female Blackbird but for one second I did a double take. It appeared bigger and slimmer than normal blackies and was holding its wings down 'ouzel like'. Guess I have just started getting Spring migrant fever

| | | Re: Blackbird behaving like Ring Ouzel Am I imagining that I've read this somewhere, that blackbirds 'drum' (not the right word but the closest I can think of) the ground to encourage worms, a sort of birdy wormcharming? Or am I going mad.......? Am I getting it confused with behavior of another type of bird/animal?

| | | Re: Blackbird behaving like Ring Ouzel i've not seen it myself, but it is certainly done by other species. i've seen gulls doing it, stamping on the ground getting them to come up. poor worms!
