A Female Mallard gives what looks like an already dead frog a good shaking whilst the Male Mallard looks on! - women really are scarey lol  |

Interesting shot. Mallards will occasionally feed on Amphibians. Although usually smaller newts and young frogs. |

What do you "you mess with us at your peril"!?
We males, on many occasions, have been accused of being sexist but surely this is a sexist comment against us! Maybe the Drake Mallard was being the perfect gentleman letting his female partner have the frog. After all it could have been a chocolate one as it is getting into the mating season and is doing his best to attract/keep the love of his life (which is saying rather a lot for a male mallard!).

We had a chicken who used to eat frogs if she found any. Swallowed them whole like a seagull eating a fish, and you could watch them going down her neck |
