I took this photo at Berry Head, Torbay on 20/02/10. At first I thought Greenfinch, then when I enhanced the photo and saw the eye stripe I thought Siskin or Cirl Bunting. Help please.

Have you tried What on Earth - Home Page you can upload photos there and they get identified by experts. |

Interesting link although I'm sure most UK and European birds can be identified on WAB with little difficulty. We have lots of members on WAB who are very experienced in fauna and flora ID. (although we don't offer free packets of bird seed in the process!)
(Agree, it's a Cirl Bunting - good to see after the harsh weather in Cornwall and Devon earlier in the year!) |

Berry Head is one of the more reliable places away from Prawle Pont to see Cirl Buntings. Well done. | | |
