| | | 1st sign of spring ? i know we have had a long hard winter but is spring round the corner? seen 2 pairs of magpies starting to build there nests, they normally take a few weeks to construct so as we head into march the signs are there. also noticed more goldfinches and a few greenfinches around, has anyone else spotted any? rossy |

Plenty of bird song + displaying going on now. |

| | | Re: 1st sign of spring ? I saw a magpie with the longest branch last week, looked like it was off pole vaulting! A family of Starlings are back in there nesting site just outside my bedroom window, they came back last week. Also a lot more bird song in the mornings....good stuff! |

| | | Re: 1st sign of spring ? The local blackies, songies and chaffinches are all singing now and last week I saw my first returning oystercatcher on Hollingworth Lake, Lancs.
