Raven stealing golf balls

As someone who can not see the point of golf, I rather enjoyed this story ....

Donegal golfers 'ravin' and 'teed off' over ball thief

It is an interesting theory that white golf balls are being preferred as they resemble eggs.

I have to say that I have never heard a Raven sound like a car horn.

There is probably a joke here about Tiger losing his balls .... but as this is a family show I had better stop there!.

I was rather amused by the comment:

Which was followed by

Only white balls are stolen - yellow balls are left where they lie.

I thought these golf courses + clubs were full of smart doctors and aother rich and well educated folk

I thought I remembered something like this on Autumnwatch/Springwatch but I've looked thru the clips still on the Beeb's site and can't find it. Does anyone else remember? Whatever it was, it had made a nest for a clutch of golf balls

I think they are very lucky to have a Raven visit their golf course, it must have brightened what would have been yet another dreary day of whacking a golf ball all over the course. I'm with you on this Richard. I just don't understand why the golfers wouldn't rather be out and about looking at wildlife, although I suppoe they are thanks to the Raven
I've also heard about foxes doing this as well. Must be a hard egg to crack though!

I remember! I think it was on Autumnwatch (on the basis I probably can't remember as far back as last Spring!) and I think it was on some video sent in by a viewer. I'm not sure the culprit was ever positively identified...

I've seen herring gulls taking golf balls from the putting green above Towan beach in Newquay.
