| | | Raptor i.d needed please. Took these photos last summer and was wondering if anyone could help me identify them. The first phot was taken off wallasea island. The second was taken in my back garden and i think it is a peregrine. (Sorry about the quality of the images , I had to zoom in quite a bit).

| | | Re: Raptor i.d needed please. From flight profile I would go for sparrowhawk for number 1 but wouldn't say this for definite without knowing a size. Would agree with the others and say Hobby for number 2.

| | | Re: Raptor i.d needed please. I did think that the second bird looked to have jesses on or are some of the birds fitted with radio trackers? The bird was flying along the ridge of hills near my house which is a few miles long so if it has jesses on it must have escaped. Thought the first bird might have been a sparrowhawk but it has a funny shape to its tail.
