| | | Re: What's your Robin up to? I had a pair of robins for most of the winter and they hung around the feeders for most of the time, I haven't seen them for a few weeks now though so I'm assuming they've probably left to nest elsewhere. Saying that, I haven't been down the garden much yet this year so they could still be in the vicinity. My cat would probably put them off nesting too close...even though he only descends from his radiator bed about twice a day |

| | | Re: What's your Robin up to? Our local park seems to be full of robins at the moment. Yesterday my friend and I went for a walk and saw one in the tree above us, and I held out a handfull of seed(wildbird mixture, and no peanuts!) - we both did the same and mother robin came and landed, sorted over the seed and took some to her fledging. I hadn't seen a young one before, so decided I would just look and listen and not scrabble for my camera. Lovely. |

My regular garden Robin always turns up when gardening and mopping up the earthworms. |

| | | Re: What's your Robin up to? I had a pair in robin nest box this year - hatched Good Friday - 2 chicks - got back from short holiday 22 Apl all fledged and flown - we kept saying they'd be gone by time we got back . Sadly I missed the experience - maybe next time/next year. Hope another pair will adopt the box later this year. My picture that displays as me is the male robin bringing food. They were good parents and gave me so much pleasure watching each morning as I ate my breakfast. One of my favourite birds! |

| | | Re: What's your Robin up to? Mr Robin was helping me do the weeding in the garden the other day.....he looked like he was wrestling snakes, the size of some of the worms But he managed to subdue them and whisked them off to the nest in an elder nearby..hopefully baby Bobbins soon... |

| | | Re: What's your Robin up to? My robin isn't the friendly sort. He usually chases all the sparrows and dunnocks. I haven't seen him/her for a while. Today I had a visit from this young robin so I assume parents nested somewhere nearby. |

| | | Re: What's your Robin up to? Our Robbie was taking seeds from the feeder and feeding them to his partner on the fence. Apparently this is part of the mating ritual.
He also likes to follow us around the garden and is particularly fond of any digging we do. My wife was planting a small bush and had walked about 10 yds to get something, and upon her return Robbie was at the hole she'd made digging out a worm. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
