| | | Online Fat balls My birds don't seem to like the fat balls that our local suppliers stock. I can only seem to get Gardmans or Cheeky boy. To me they seem v dry & full of cheap filler. Can anyone recommend a good online (decent prices as well!) supplier that have nice ones?
And yes, I am that woman who has gone into a shop & asked, without thinking, a young male assistant "Do you have fat balls?". I haven't been back since

| | | Re: Online Fat balls It was great to find this thread.....I've been really fed up with the amount of waste I get from my bird feeders - they only seem to eat the sunflower seeds and maize, the rest gets wasted so the website you recommended has proved to be brilliant. I have been able to buy individual components so that I can make up my own mix of the stuff I know they will eat. F-A-B !
P.S. Love the "Do you have fat balls?" question....must try that at on my local feed merchant. |

| | | Re: Online Fat balls I bought a pack of fifty fat balls from the shop at Rainham Marshes, but the RSPB also sell them online - Please enable your cookies
All the birds, but especially the starlings, seem to like them, as do the squirrels.

| | | Re: Online Fat balls whichever fat balls i buy always get left till last by the birds, they don't seem hugely keen on them, even my own home-made delicious ones - well, i didn't actually taste them but they look a lot nicer than the bought ones
i too smiled at the 'fat balls' comment. i asked our butcher if i could have a goose for christmas, couldn't think of any other way to phrase it |

| | | Re: Online Fat balls I make my own - fat squares! Put the mixed seed in a big baking tray and pour over melted lard. It's a lot cheaper and you can even put in apples, dried fruit etc. if you want to.
