Both greylag geese. The top shows a domesticated variety. The bottom photo shows a goose that also looks like a domestic bird.

Snow Geese don't have orange bills, but pink ones!

As others have said, it's a domestic Greylag.

According to me bird book, the Eastern race has pink bills and the Western race has orange bills - would this clear up anything here?

No greylag . Snow geese have a dark eye without the distinctive orange ring.

You are obviously referring to Greylag here. The nominate western race we see in Europe has an orange bill as shown above. The other race, the eastern ssp. rubrirostris, which occurs mainly in Asia, does have a pink bill. There are also intergrades where the 2 meet.

All Snow Geese have pink bills.

As the bird photographed has an orange bill it can't be a Snow Goose + is structurally different anyway.

So (and thanks for everyone's input here, been a great help in identifying these birds and increasing my scant knowledge of birds - cheers!) can we all confirm that they're both Greylag Geese?
