Hopefully someone can help to shed light on what I'm pretty sure was a bird I heard today, I wasn't fortunate enought to see it.
It was in deciduous woodland on the edge of heathland at Snelsmore Common in Berkshire and was coming from ground level or just above. The noise it made was a deep 'brrrrrp', it was quite loud. I'm intrigued because I haven't heard it before and can't find anthing like it doing a quick search on the RSPB website.
Thanks in advance!
