What else to see around Gigrin Farm - Wales ?

End of next month, We are going to Gigrin Farm in wales to see the Red Kites.

Is there any other Nature Reserves, etc near to the farm. As we are going to make a day of it visiting mid Wales.

We be comming up from Devon, (Family Holiday).

Hi Gary, welcom to WAB. The area around Rhayadar is one of my favourite. If you go out from Rhayadar on the main road to Aberystwyth a couple of miles down there on the right is Gilfach nature reserve, The entrance is on a bend & if you blink you will miss it. You can park near the entrance & explore from there or follow the track around & up to the center. Great for kids & great walks & views. Again from Rhayadar take the mountain road towards Aber & head for the Elan Valley, breathtaking. Great for kids with history of building the dams. Also how about a day at the seaside, Aberyswyth, or go crabbing at Aberdovey!

I agree with the Elan valley, a stunning place!
In Wales, look and you will find, wildlife is everywhere and its up to you to find it
There are also many good looking sheep, and if your in luck bouncing lambs!
There is so much to see and do you would need a couple of sides of A4 to list them.
Look at the relevant birdsites for latest sightings and also the forestry commision site.
And most of all enjoy your trip, but keep to the speed limits if driving

i did that on a school trip when i must have been around 10 years old! it was brilliant!
