| | | Bjll Baily's birdwatching bonanza I was wondering what you guys think about this new series. My first impression is that it seems quite silly. A bit like watching Alan Titmarsh pretending to be hopeless at cooking and thowing flour all over the place, Sooty and Sweep style! In my opinion, the basic idea of a bird spotting quiz is a good one. However, I think that celebs pretending to be thick, could have been replaced by children or teenagers with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for wildlife. I for one, would have found that format much more fun to watch. It might have captured the interests of other young people too? - Wizzo

| | | Re: Bjll Baily's birdwatching bonanza I have to agree. I didn't like the format of the program and found it a bit of a 'yawn' to be quite honest. |

Tbh, I'm not overly looking forward to this weeks line up, but will still watch it, as it's about birds. It's like Gardeners' World, it's been cr*p recently, but still about plants, so I carried on watching it. I've not learnt from it in ages, which seems sad in a way. As with programmes like Top Gear, if you can accept they are just for entertainment, you will enjoy it and 'some' will learn about our bird life, that not watching this programme they wouldn't have done. The poem bit is nonsense, in my eyes!! |

| | | Re: Bjll Baily's birdwatching bonanza Taken with a pinch of salt it wasn't that bad, just don't expect anything too serious (how could you!)
I don't know who the woman was that they had on last week but my god, she seriously wound me up. I felt sorry for anyone having to actually spend any time with her. |

| | | Re: Bjll Baily's birdwatching bonanza I believe she used to be on 'Corrie' Tony. She's currently on 'loose women'. In my opinion, I think she's made a living out of being silly. My wife however, thinks she's great! Still, it's all about opinions I guess lol

| | | Re: Bjll Baily's birdwatching bonanza It was the first time I had ever watched a program on bird watching and I came away with the feeling it should be aired at 5.30pm so all the kids could watch it as an adult with a new interest in the birds around us I was unable to take it seriously and felt that some of it was an insult to ones intelligence. |

How irritating

| | | Re: Bjll Baily's birdwatching bonanza I have to agree with everyone else. Me and my partner are novice birdies and we were looking forward to the programme. Birds + Bill Bailey - what's not to like??? However the series is not that entertaining (sat through the first one and have skipped any further ones) and I'm sick of seeing the same second rate celebrities doing the rounds (I'm a celeb, dancing on ice, big brother etc). If it had children instead of the tabloid celebs then definitely would have been less of a put off, but still I think a better format would have been following Bill Bailey around bird watching, no script just quick witty clever commentary. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
