At the moment I'm seeing more redwings than just about any other bird. During the holiday period, they stripped my holly tree from top to bottom. Where do they come from ? Why don't I see more of them throughout the year?

Wagstaff | Redwings come from further North of the UK to winter here, escaping harsher temperatures. They subsequently depart in the spring, hence you only seeing them now! The Highlands of Scotland area sees some during the summer though.

the forum has gone redwing/fieldfare mad at the moment!!! haha! its no surprise really, as wagstaff said, they seem to be outnumbering any other bird at the mo! there was a big flock in a tree the other day which got scared off by an unsuccessful cat, quite a sight! |
