Yet another ID request

Hi.

I am hoping someone can identify a rather odd visitor to my garden. The RSPB interactive identifier has failed!

It is very small, about the size of a robin or maybe a bit smaller. It prefers to walk but flies quite nicely (seems to prefer the ground to the trees). It has black legs and a medium size straight beak. He likes mealworms over seeds. He has a white stomach and a dark grey/black back and head with white flashes on his wings. His most distinctive feature is the black V on his chest and his virtually non existant tail.

I will try to load a piccy onto my Gallery.

Any help will put 4 minds at rest!

Can't see the photo, but I wonder whether it might be a Pied Wagtail that has lost its tail?
