| | | Fieldfare? Hello all,
Forgive me but I'm a newbie and this is my first post.
I'm not a serious bird spotter but I do have feeders set up in my garden and I like to watch them out of my window whilst I'm pretending to work from home.
Today, however, I saw a new bird at the bottom of the garden feeding on berries. It was about 20m away but I managed to nip and get my camera and get a quick pic. Apologies for the quality but as I said it was quite a distance away. I've never seen this bird before but having looked through my book it seems like it's a Fieldfare. It stayed for about 5 mins, flew away and then came back for 5 mins again later.
I live in a small town in Staffodshire.
Thanks. |

Welcome to the forum
Yes. You have a Fieldfare.
They seem to be everywhere at the moment. |

Yes, I agree - a Fieldfare, of course a winter-migrating bird. A nice close shot too. Quote:

Take care, Jason

| | | Re: Fieldfare? Thanks everyone. Another one ticked off my list of birds seen then.
Apologies if I've broken the forum rules about posting images! I used Photobucket and posted the link. How do I post it from within WAB?
Thanks in advance,
Ed |

| | | Re: Fieldfare? Lovely pic of what looks like a fieldfare, I am also quite new to the birding culture, but I got couple of these in my garden last week...no pics tho as resident blackbirds chased them off quite quickly I never seem to be quick enough with the camera |
