Can't upload!

Hello. Sorry to gatecrash a bird forum like this with a technical issue, but it is bird related - honest! Saw a very strange bird in garden today - think it was a woodcock/snipe type and luckily got some good shots of it. But despite trying several times to upload the photos - and apparently managing it without any problems - can't seem to find my uploaded photos of mystery bird anywhere on this site. Can anyone help me please?

You will have uploaded them either to Images or Gallery.

Click on Gallery or Images at the very top of the page - thin blue panel.

Then click on My Photos on the left of the green panel, about third down. If they are in Images you will see them straight away and you will be able to include them in your posts.

If they are in Gallery, you may see a blank box with the words Image Awaiting Approval. As the Gallery is for "best" images, each is scrutinised by a Gallery moderator who will either approve it or reject it. If it is rejected you will get a generic message to tell you why it hasn't been accepted.

Did you try putting them in the Gallery or Image Archive? The Gallery is for fully-named images, in the format: 'Common Name - Scientific name', such as 'European Robin - Erithacus rubecula'. If it was unidentified and submitted to the Gallery it'll be rejected until you know what it is and name it in that format

If you put it in the Image Archive, which is where unidentified species go... What size were your photos? The system often says they've been accepted, but if they were too big they won't have been. Try to keep them around 100Kb and 1600x1200 or less. I go for 800x600 and 80% quality.

i had trouble doing this the other day, it kept saying my upload was successful, then it just wasn't appearing... i think it may have been due to a firewall though as i'd just installed some virus-protection software, so this might be worth a look! please try your best though i'd love to see what you've got !
