| | Your Bird Targets For 2010? Hi all,
I've checked this board and haven't found a similar thread, so apologies if I've missed one!
Well, with 2010 now here - what birds are you hoping to see/track-down this year? My list would include House Martin, Yellow Wagtail, Meditteranean Gull, Stock Dove and Little Egret.
If I was to go further I'd add Firecrest and Turtle Dove, but less likely ones.
Which are you looking for?
Take care, Jason |

I am hoping to see my first, Sand Martin. The WWT local to me is building a purpose built hide, to attract them.
Another, Cuckoo would be nice. |

| | | Re: Your Bird Targets For 2010? I'm hoping to visit the coast (probably next month) and track down some Snow Buntings. It's years since I last saw any. I would love to get a decent photo of a Kingfisher this year (wouldn't we all), and I'm hoping the Great Grey Shrike that visited Lakenheath fen last February will do so again this year. I would also like to visit Dunwich Heath and see a dartford Warbler, if they've survived the winter. |

Better Heron shots Greater Spotted WoodPecker FieldFare RedWing SparrowHawk
Hope everyone else manages to complete all their bird targets and more importantly, have fun completing them
PS. Jason For the turtle dove and Little Egret you can always go to Riverside Country Park in Gillingham, it might be quite a journey for you but I don't know any other places

| | | Re: Your Bird Targets For 2010? Nothing too specific. Anything that I haven't seen in Britain or Surrey before, and of course anywhere ever before.
Would like to catch up with some of the more elusive species that I haven't seen for a while too such as Monty's Harrier, Rough-legged Buzzard. Might even have a jolly to see the Bustards, not that you can officially count them on your Britlist yet. Apart from those lucky devis that have seen the wild ones that have turned up over the years. |

I'm not sure, only just complete my 2009 ones! (yellowhammer, redwings and fieldfares)
however, it'd be nice to see some more raptors, red kite, hobby and merlin especially.
also looking foward to seeing some warblers, a whitethroat would be nice
some more waders would be nice too |

| | | Re: Your Bird Targets For 2010? Osprey!!! Would love to get some good shots, well, any to be honest. Hopefully will get a few chances to visit Glaslyn this year.
A day on Ramsey chasing the Puffins again would be high on my list as well. Went a bit late last year and got to see just about the last Puffin on the island.
