| | | Re: Your Bird Targets For 2010? I would suggest the Caperwatch at Loch Garten, but only if you don't mind a bit of a scrum. Nothing is guaranteed, but you stand a pretty good chance of actually seeing a Caper.
This year may be good for Capers, according to the RSPB website Abernethy had their most successful breeding season for 13 years. |

| | | Re: Your Bird Targets For 2010? I have simple tastes! Would finally like to get a recognisable pic of the great spotted woodpecker that has just started coming into my garden, a decent pic of the magnificent female sparrowhawk would be nice and a return visit from the lovely pair of turtle doves that visited my garden last year and obligingly posed for pics (but camera battery flat...took not v good shots with phone camera- what can you do??) |

| | | Re: Your Bird Targets For 2010? Just thought i'd bump this post and see if people have managed to see any of their target species. I managed to see a hoopoo at sheringham in the summer but only briefly.

| | | Re: Your Bird Targets For 2010? I've not managed to see any of my 3 target species this year yet, and I think I'm too late now for Dotterel. The other 2 were Ptarmigan, which I may see on winter walks, and Kingfisher, which I think I'll need to get to Inverness for.
