Oh well...I know what I saw..just wish I'd had a camera!

The trouble is you don't know what you saw with all due respect to you, otherwise you would not have asked.
From the vague description you have given, no county bird recorder would accept your claim.

| | | Re: Snowy owl? Well a BIG white bird...not a seagull,not an egret,not a 'white Buzzard,not an albatross(sorry...just a joke!)...not many other BIG white birds I can think of at the moment...was a 'robust bird..not gangly...my first thought was that it was shaped like an owl.
I may not be an expert...but I knew it was something I hadn't seen before thats why I reported it!
Oh well.....
