Magpies not quite so clever after all?

One of mine is taking the grapes I put out this morning and burying them in the snow on top of a tree stump. Not only does this show the lack of forethought

but it's mate is coming along after it and wolfing down the buried treasure when it's back is turned.

Perhaps it knows its mate has a yeast infection, and is helpully killing the yeast on the surface of the grapes with cold snow.
