Sorry about the quality of the image as it was taken through a window in bright reflective sunshine and the bird was quite far away, it seemed to have a red tinge near its chest.

Looks to me like a Redwing too a member of the thrush family but on a smaller scale

both spot on with one of our winter thrushes - they seem to be more confiding, as all birds seem to be of course, when food is scarce and difficult in snowy times and they will come into garden areas and nearer habitation more than normal, behaving as Blackbirds do.

Thanks, he/she was eating some sultanas. Its another bird i can add to my list that ive never seen in the garden before, we have some Fieldfares as well which are new visitors.
