Chaffinches

As there were so many chaffinches around the feeder today I thought I would try the burst mode on my fz28 - my attempts at catching them by using single shots gave me the best set of photos of an empty feeder I have seen for a good while. Not a great photo but I quite liked the sense of movement.

Nice shot. I get loads of chaffinches, but the will not use the feeders. They wait on the ground and pick up bits dropped by the the greenfinches, goldfinches and various tits which all use the feeders quite happily.

Yeah, I too love the fact that while you are camera-less the little tweeters play up to the max, then when you are armed with your SLR, they all scatter like confetti on the breeze! Have had extraordinary numbers of chaffinches in the garden also, but put his down to bad weather conditions lately. Amazed that you managed to catch any at all, never mind in motion!
