bird goup names !
Hi all and happy new year !!!!!!

for many years i have been confused by names given to flocks or groups of birds...a gaggle of this or a covey of that etc etc...

whilst laid horizontal on my sofa one morning over the xmas period i was watching " wild russia" on tv, and the narator refered to a group of ravens feeding on carrion as a " Unkindness of ravens"...i thought surely he is mistaken but when i checked he was correct...and i was very interested in looking at other group/flock names ...do you know of any better or do you have a favorite ???? what is the best you have heard and why ????

i have googled a few sites and this is fascinating...i wonder how and why they have chosen these names and what the reasoning is behind the given names !!!
i love the one given to lapwings as well...go on have a look it will make you smile i bet !
