Wren

Hi,

i bought from a garden center a leaf/moss made bird house for about a £1.00 in there bargin bucket. i positioned it on a tree outside our back door (about 10 ft away) in the summer. for about 6 weeks now i have noticed a head bobbing up and down in it of an evening. It turned out to be a wren he/she has taken refuge in there every night. but wondered if the wren will use this for laying eggs in the spring/summer? if so i am tempted to set up a small video cam on the wall of the house opposite to watch them. Can anyone tell me if they will or wont.

No the wren will not nest in it. It is a roost for the night. Sometimes depending on size a few may use this to sleep thru the night together in cold weather.
