| | | Window strike - best stickers? I'm about to get some window alert stickers as I do get a number of bird strikes. I have some double aspect rooms where you can see straight through the house, which seem to be the main problem windows. But I think it is a combination of see-through and of reflections off the garden, particularly when it is snowy that causes the birds to not see the windows.
There are UV reflective stickers in leaf or other forms, and also some red and black hawk silhouettes. They say that the black should be used for where they can see through the window, the red where it is the reflection of the garden that causes the problem.
I was wondering what people had found particularly effective.

| | | Re: Window strike - best stickers? OK, I'm going to be totally unhelpful here but when we replaced our big 1960s "picture" windows with ones with "Georgian-style" glazing bars we stopped having any bird strikes altogether! We also noticed that we can move around inside the room without disturbing the birds at the feeder just outside, something we certainly couldn't do before when any movement had them all flying off.

| | | Re: Window strike - best stickers? I bought some spider-web-warning window stickers for my parents' conservatory after they were experiencing bird strikes, and two years on they haven't had a single strike (not that they've been aware of).
I can't remember where I purchased them from, but they were exactly like these ones: Droll Yankees Warning Web Window Decals, pack of 2 at BestNest.com | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
