| | | Re: bird names that visit garden My mum used to have two blackbirds in the garden. One was called wonky wing, - i'll let you work out why and the other was called ginger because her head was a really chestnut brown colour.

| | | Re: bird names that visit garden I had a group of feral pigeons that visited my garden. At first all except one were dark morphs, and very neat looking. The other was a splodgy brown and white one. Which I called Scruff. Scruff had a youngster, who I named Scruff Junior. Scruff got caught by a cat, but Scruff Junior had more Scruffs, 2 of which hung around who were collectively called Scruffs Babes. Then there was a rather distinctive pigeon, very striking, particularly the eyes, who I called 'Wild', because there was a wildness about the eyes. And I've kept some photos as I did get rather fond of them. All had distinctive characters.
Interestingly the dark morphs learnt to use the hanging feeders, first one, which the others watched very attentively, and then practiced until perfected, but none of the other colourings ever attempted to use them, even though they could see the others using them.
