| | | New Collins Bird Guide For those interested the long awaited revised addition of the Collins Bird Guide is now out, a friend got it from one of the RSPB shops the other day and I had a quick look at it today, seems to be quite a major revision lots more info on Gulls, Ducks and BOP’s. probably lots of other species as well as it has 10% more info then the first edition but it was these we were looking at today, so I will defiantly be getting a copy in the next few weeks as my old copy has seen nearly ten years of pockets and rucksacks and is now held together with sticky tape and is well due for retirement.
If you are looking around the bookshops and are not sure which edition you are looking at the revised edition has a Tern on the front cover instead of a Barn Owl.

| | | Re: New Collins Bird Guide I think the hardback is now out (haven't seen it yet, but it is a major update, so an essential purchase for most serious birders), but softback is due in March. |

| | | Re: New Collins Bird Guide Paperback version can be pre-ordered for only £11.69 currently at your favourite online book seller .
Although, I also had the email from them a couple of days ago to say the publication date had been delayed until March 4th. |

| | | Re: New Collins Bird Guide I recently bought another book which I find better than Collins for bird ID and only cost £6.99 inc P+P from a well know internet seller.
Its called "the birdwatchers pocket guide to britain and Europe" by Peter Hayman and Rob Hume.
Well worth a look if you out to save a few quid |
