Bittern at Arundel WWT

My first Bittern

This was seen at the Wetlands in Arundel
Its the first one i have seen. Unfortunately it never gave us a clear view of itself.
These photo were taken through the double glazing of the main building, and the Bittern was at the edge of the lake, approx 50 -60 feet away.
So, not the best of images. But i thought you might like to see them.

Super, well done you. I saw some outstanding images from Potteric Carr this week. The best I ever saw. Mind you it was with a 600 and 1.4, but still they were mint

nice work gaza, i've seen 3 this year at attenbrough NR near notts, my first ever sightings, and they are wondeful birds, especially when you see them properly, i was watching one for around 40 mins the other day, gingerly walking across the ice before settling in the reeds to roost. i'm going to pop down on tuesday for another look, i just wish i had a long lens!
