| | | Ducks & Geese ID I visited the Regent's Park waterfowl collection again today and photographed about 40 species of ducks and geese. I have managed to ID most of these but am a bit stuck on a few.
Are these Garganey?
This seems to be a Goldeneye but the brown head seems wrong
Geese of some sort...

garganey, yep, goldeneye, yep (winter female might have thrown you?) and pink feet.

Err, red faced apology, I meant MALE in winter/transitional plumage for your pic - but thats what it is.

The male goldeneye shows a brown head due to it being a 1st winter bird it will turn green through the winter into spring. |
