| | | Feeding birds in the garden.. a little different Through the year I have been saving road kill in an old freezer, as an experiment I decided to put a pheasant out 3 days ago and low and behold a Buzzard came to it. Same again yesterday and today. I took a pic out my window at dusk just to get a shot and ill try get a good one tomorrow. Its not actually my garden its a golf course, but I feel privellaged I can view this from my sitting room. It was great watching it rip it up and feed for half an hour, fattest Buzzard in Scotland |

| | | Re: Feeding birds in the garden.. a little different I think this is a great idea, as it seems to work for you...I know a lot of people on here are probably going to be against it for various reasons, but as the roadkill is dead anyway...why waste it if you can help out a beautiful bird like the buzzard in these tough times?
I have put out bits of cooked chicken on the bird table in the past and got a lone female kestrel coming to feed..surely if she feeds from this she's less likely to take other wildlife? I also put out food for the other birds at a different feeding post, can't I try to keep all my local birds as happy as possible?? |
